I hope this doesn't find you.

(1) I've spent the last few weeks trying to figure out what I want to write. These past six months or so have been odd. They weren't hectic, nor calm. I feel like I've done so much and so little. Of course I've made many memories I already cherish: Trip abroad with my friends! My first Big Girl job! So much clubbing! In spite of it all, I feel slightly removed from myself sometimes. Which is funny, 'cause I don't think I've ever spent so much time in my own head in, like, forever.

I like that (almost) no one reads this stuff. I hope this doesn't find you.

(2) One particularly despairful week I came across solo RPGs and that discovery's lowkey changed my life. Like night scenarios on steroids. I love it so much!!! It's so freeing to think of writing as play. In fact, it wasn't until I did a session of A Lonely Road that I felt excited to come back to the blog. I like that the “rules” can be as simple or as complex as you like. At the end of the day it's just prompted creative writing, but there's a je ne sais quoi about the format that makes it giddily exciting.

Naked in Buenos Aires baby!

(3) All the stars are aligning (in Buenos Aires!) to drain my wallet and I couldn't be happpier. Seeing Chappell Roan live at Lollapalooza was, at the very least, a religious experience. I cried my heart out while screaming the lyrics of Liability at Lorde's set, and Addison Rae was for the history books. Seriously, she's gonna be huge. Sabrina was super cute and I hope she plays a solo show next time she comes down here. It's not every day I burn through three months of my humble little part time job for a festival, so you bet I made the most out of that glorious weekend and ended up seeing 14 acts (I ran a LOT those three days). The lineup was so stupidly good I'd have to comment on practically every set I saw. I haven't even mentioned Doechii or Marina yet! God, I love women. Other nice surprises that really stood out to me: Terra, Blood Orange, Turnstile! Apart from Lolla I've been catching some indie gigs here and there. Too bad I'm too employed to sit down and write all about it. It's CRIMINAL that I haven't written anything about Oasis last year… Biblical day.

So happy day of birth no matter where on Earth your feet have taken you today.

(4) My birthday is in a few days. I still feel like a kid. Or at least I don't feel grown enough. 21 is a nice number, I think.

(5) WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA by Slayyyter. The Mountain by Gorillaz. POST POP by Homogénica. HIJO DEL PAÍS by Broke Carrey. you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love by Olivia Rodrigo. Nice Day: A Collection of Singles by Magdalena Bay. ULTRA by Six Sex. Ambiguous Desire by Arlo Parks. TANYA EN EL CRUCERO by Juana Rozas. Distracted by Thundercat. From The Pyre (Deluxe) by The Last Dinner Party. ¿De Qué Hablamos Cuando Hablamos de Amor? by Jero Jones. HELP(2) by War Child Records. CONFESSIONS II by Madonna.

(6) I'm stupidly obsessed with nonograms. I haven't found any apps I vibe with, so I play this website on the ‘puter. It's rough and ugly and it has just about everything I need to get into the flow. I'm currently trying to bring down my time on 25x25's, I haven't gotten the rhythm of those yet. Anything bigger than that is too tough on the eyes. Maybe I should start printing them?

(7) Too many side quests learning random bits and pieces of techy stuff: Arduino, Lean, Linux (I've become what I swore to destroy), ROS2, competitive programming, etc. Also how to be a better person and whatnot. But mainly how to code. Are those two mutually exclusive? It seems so nowadays. Hyperbolic thought pieces about “AI” bore me so much. So does being flooded on every screen by ugly, nonsensical slop. Sometimes I think about the fact that one of the only images in my entire website is AI-made. I'm currently reading The MANIAC by Benjamín Labatut1 and I was surprised to find out that its cover is based on a DALLE-2 image. Three years ago I would've found that to be a striking idea to dissect, today I shrug.

Before I go, a few more highlights:

Take care. Let's find each other in the next one :)

  1. Incredible book, by the way. If I had to encapsulate in one book recommendation all of the academic themes I've been turning around in my head the past year, that would be it.
